When we’re faced with a difficult decision to make it feels as if we’ve come to a crossroad and we are not sure as to direction to take.
We may look to a trusted friend, a significant other, a family member, spiritual leader or a mentor to help us think through the pros and cons of our choices. There’s nothing wrong with that. However, we must be aware that their advice comes tainted with their prior life experiences, the culture in which they choose to immerse themselves, their spiritual beliefs etc.
In the end we must look to ourselves; our inner guide; to the God within. Do you feel a sense of joy or peace? Or do feel a sense of unease and trepidation?
Whenever I’ve asked someone how they’ve felt after they’ve made a serious decision . If they’ve made what they deem to be a good choice they most often say “No matter what the outcome is I’m at peace, I feel settled and I feel good”.
In my own personal experience good decisions are followed by a sense of peace and then later replaced with a sense of joy and lightheartedness.
Let your sense of joy be the final litmus test when contemplating a decision. It will never steer you wrong. It is the true judgement free zone.
How do you feel when you have made the right choice?
